Polyanionic Cellulose Polymer (LV) - DEVA PAC - LO


DEVA PAC –LO is a low yielding polyanionic cellulose polymer which is used as a fluid loss reducer and scale inhibitor.

DEVA PAC –LO is a high performance product, readily, dispersible in water base drilling muds ranging from fresh water to saturated salt water.

DEVA PAC –LO can also be used in combination with DEVA PAC –LO when a further decrease in fluid loss is necessary without having an increase in viscosity.


DEVA PAC –LO can be successfully applied in fresh water, sea water, saturated salt water and KC1 weighted drilling fluids.

Rheology, fluid loss and the scale inhibiton are closely related to the presence of the polymer in the water phase and to the absorption on solids.

Consequently a replacement of the polymer lost on drilled cuttings has to be considered.


DEVA PAC –LO is stable up to 300°F, according to lab test. Several factors in mud treatment can increase this when applied in the field.


Typical results: Base fluid: sea water, bentonite 10 ppb. (28.6 Kg/m³) , prehydratedbentonited 20ppb. (57.2 kg/m³), barites to density 1.4. Aged overnight at 185°F (85°C)

DEVA PAC –Lo should be added through the hopper at a rate of about 20 min/sk. at doses of 0.5-2.5 ppb.
